First class worked in groups to design and build their own bridges-they shared their results and explained their builds to Juniors and Seniors
March 2022-restarting sharing our work post Covid restrictions!
We have just started sharing our work with each other other following the relaxing of COVID restrictions. Check out 5th & 6th Class students sharing their technology and engineering work with senior infants. Seniors really enjoyed hearing about and seeing both Lego WeDo and K'nex builds in operation.
June 2021 -Science in the Sun-6th Class STEM display for the whole school
Our annual STEM Expo was a little different this year-however it was just as enjoyable as 6th Class invited the whole school outside to see their STEM demonstrations illustrating the properties of electricity, magnets, air pressure and electrical circuits. Great fun was had by all....Mr Deegan and Mr Mulrooney were very brave to sit under the umbrella to illustrate air pressure!! 6th Class donated the electronic games they made to infants-they had great fun trying them out!
Dec/Jan 2020-Show and tell
James from seniors made an amazing radio receiver tower from K'NEX and explained to us all how it works. Seniors completed a STEM challenge to make bird feeders using recyclable materials while 2nd class demonstated the science behind parachutes they made during Science Week!
September-October 2019 Show & Tell
4th class have been busy working on Irish mammal projects -their monthly test challenge in SESE was to present their findings to all classes. Jay from seniors brought in an old wasp nest that his Grandad found in his garden whileTommy also from seniors made a giant cardboard birthday cake with five candles following their Aistear theme of "The Birthday Party"
